I’m back from vacay! It was amazing! Loved every minute of it and wished I could stay longer. But back to reality I had to come.
My apologies, I had every intention of blogging while on vacation, but the internet at the hotel was hardly working.
After my last relaxer I promised to post photos of my hair. I didn’t have a chance to do it before leaving on vacation, but I was able to snap some photos while vacationing in the Bahamas. You might not be able to see in the photos but in my opinion I’ve lost some thickness due to the breakage and I can see more flyaways than...

This is really a relaxer update but bear with me…I have to deviate a bit to share my frustrations. Last relaxer day was very disappointing for me So disappointing that it took me six days to get into the mind set to compose this post.
You see I had my hair relaxed 8 days ago not because I really wanted to but because I had too. It wasn’t helping that my hair was starting to look a little wild and frankly I was having an “ugly” week. Maybe by some form of a premonition I wasn’t excited but I knew if I didn’t go when I did I wouldn’t have been...

I relaxed 5 days ago at exactly 12 weeks! To be honest this stretch was not half bad.
By incorporating co-washing and wet bunning with the scarf method, I was able to take advantage of an easier stretch. My new growth was more manageable and I didn’t have to worry about rollerssetting and sitting under the dryer either. Another nicety I experienced was that this approach allowed me to mask my new growth without the use of heat. I don’t know about you, but when I’m deep in my stretch and I rollerset my hair, the two different textures are like night and day. I have the...

My new growth had some serious attitude so I had to lay that to rest. Combing was close to impossible without making my scalp extremely sore so I thought it best to relax early instead of making a bad situation worse by trying to stretch longer. I relaxed yesterday at 9 weeks and 2 days.
For those of you following the blog, you know that I’m having some unexplainable excessive shedding. Still don’t know the culprit for sure, but stress is coming to mind since I’m long off all the medications I was on and I’m back to my regular products and it’s still occurring. ...

I got my relaxer today! It was definitely time…my hair was singing to me. The relaxer itself went fairly well..I got a couple burns and I also got a corrective relaxer to correct those under-processed parts. Turns out my hair was more kinky than straight so my stylist went over all of my hair with relaxer but before you scream that she’s whacko to do that, let me explain how she did it.
First she did my roots, so the relaxer had time to process the kinkiest areas first. After the roots were covered, she applied a very small amount of the relaxer throughout the length of my hair. ...
