After a long wait I finally watched the Chris Rock Good Hair documentary last weekend. It wasn’t the most serious of documentaries but still wasn’t a drop-off-your-seat funny show. The documentary touched on a slew of ‘black-hair’ relevant topics but didn’t go too in-depth into anything. It featured various black celebrities giving personal accounts of hair ‘protocol’ and recollections of hair-dos gone wrong.

I haven’t seen it as yet, but I would like to so that I could weigh in with my own opinion on whether it deserves the time of day. I’ve seen several black ladies object to the movie and declared they would be boycotting the film because they don’t believe it should be supported. Now I wouldn’t go that far, like I said before I need to see it for myself first, however I don’t know that I’m expecting the most in-depth analysis of women’s hair-mentality from a comedian like Chris Rock. His agenda is to entertain, not necessarily to psychoanalyze. So why the...
