I’ve been in a hotel room for almost a week. The hardest part of preparing for this trip wasn’t deciding which outfits to bring or what shoes to pack! It was deciding which hair products would go with me and which ones I would leave behind. Since the new travel regulations, it’s always a challenge packing light, packing liquids and still including enough product to meet my needs during my trip. I wasn’t going anywhere that I could find black hair products either so the thought of buying stuff when I arrived was quickly tossed out.
My final choices were:

Had to put an end to the results of my last wash. Although I was able to soften it a bit by using Qhemet Burdock Root and Wave Nouveau, it just wasn’t that silky feel that I’ve gotten used to. I shampooed with Head and Shoulders Smooth & Silky (2 lathers) and then applied the Kenra MC. Let that sit while showering and then rinsed. My hair felt soft, but strong (little shedding or breakage). I used Kenra as a leave-in and rollerset with some diluted Infusium 23. I haven’t seen it as yet, but I would like to so that I could weigh in with my own opinion on whether it deserves the time of day. I’ve seen several black ladies object to the movie and declared they would be boycotting the film because they don’t believe it should be supported. Now I wouldn’t go that far, like I said before I need to see it for myself first, however I don’t know that I’m expecting the most in-depth analysis of women’s hair-mentality from a comedian like Chris Rock. His agenda is to entertain, not necessarily to psychoanalyze. So why the...

Uggghhhh…moisturfuse ooh moisturfuse ooh moisturfuse; protein….ooh protein…ooh protein. What’s with this tumultuous love affair??? Last wash day I incorporated some protein. Seems reasonable right? I normally do a light protein treatment weekly (for 3 mins or so) to avoid having to do heavy protein treatments (I hate how hard they leave my hair). I pre-pooed with my concoction from this post; shampooed with Giovanni 50:50 (I still think this shampoo is too stripping for me); and then applied the Aphogee 2-min. After rinsing the Aphogee, my hair felt ok, not super...

A big thank-you to Cassandra H for sharing this link on Hairlista. I thought I’d share it here as well. Universalsalons.com is an excellent resource for black hair styles. They have everything from long to short, twists to updos, relaxed to natural and wedding to everyday hairstyles. If you’re looking for colour ideas it’ll also help you out there.
Keep in mind that you don’t have to copy the exact style. Combine 2 or more styles to accomplish what you’re looking for or just get ideas that you wouldn’t have otherwise thought about. These photos are also...
